Potty training tips

Use a potty pad from the start so your new friend understands where the bathroom is.
Dogs usually have a unique way of telling you when they have to go. When you see them do this action be sure to praise your dog so they continue to give warning in the future.
Regulating their eating schedule can give your dog a sense of security, always knowing when a meal is coming. Furthermore, if you’re feeding your dog at specific times, you can follow up and bring him to his potty spot with the expectation that he’ll be ready to go soon after he finishes his meal.
If you want to be sure your canine keeps business outside, you’ll have to bring him out yourself regularly. As a general rule it’s a good idea to take your pup out first thing in the morning, after all feedings, and anytime you see cues that he might need to go.
Every pet owner on the west (or wet?) coast experiences bad weather. Preparation is key. Keep a large umbrella close to the door to keep both you and your pooch dry. Also, having a towel to dry his feet after you go outside will help avoid having to clean up a different type of accident-muddy paws on everything.

Introduce your dog to their crate in a quiet environment. Bring them to the crate using positive reinforcement and a happy tone of voice. Make sure the crate door is open and secured so that it won’t hit your dog and frighten them.
After introducing your dog to the crate, begin feeding them their regular meals near the crate. This will create a pleasant association with the crate. Consistently move the food until your dog is eating his/her meals in the crate.
Once your dog is eating in the crate with no sign of fear or anxiety, you can confine them for short time periods while you’re home. slowly increase the duration, making sure to remove the dog if they show signs of anxiety.
Once comfortable being secured inside, start crating your dog when you leave for short time periods of less than 30 minutes to start if that goes smoothly try crating him beside your bed at night.
